What Music Means to Seafair

1 of 6

From Ray Charles, to Nirvana, to Macklemore and The Head & The Heart, Seattle is renowned as a city steeped in musical tradition.

In an effort to expose our region to this music and tradition Seattle is famous for, Seafair introduced bold new mainstages and provided rich new musical experiences to the 2016 festival.

Seafair has also committed to supporting up and coming northwest youth musicians by providing opportunities to perform on these new stages and is excited to continue to offer an expanding array of unique contemporary music performances to the festival as it enters its 69th year.

Seattle Cancer Care Alliance Seafair Summer 4th

Attendees at Gas Works Park can spend the day listening to live, local music at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance Main Stage. The lineup will be announced soon.

The City of Music @ Seafair – Music Ambassador

The Seattle Music Commission and Seafair, came together in 2016 to form a new partnership - City of Music @ Seafair. This partnership helps showcase the city's expansive array of musical talent by weaving music throughout Seafair events.

A key aspect of this partnership included nominating and appointing a 2016 City of Music @ Seafair – Music Ambassador. This person would give voice to this dynamic partnership and represent Seattle City of Music to diverse audiences through several high-profile performances at key Seafair events throughout the summer festivities. The Music Commission identified a list of 12 top potential candidates to fill this role and submitted it to Seafair for consideration. Grace Love became the innagural City of Music @ Seafair – Music Ambassador and made appearances at the Seafair Kickoff and Summer 4th.
