The Seafair Foundation Scholarship Program for Women is an exciting experience for young women seeking academic scholarships and opportunities for networking and leadership, personal, and professional development. Scholarships are awarded in categories including: Academics, Community Service, Public Speaking, Interview, Essay, People’s Choice, and Participant Choices, and one awarded to the outstanding participant whose field of study is education, social studies, or the arts. The participant named as Miss Seafair and those named runners-up will receive additional scholarship dollars.
The Scholarship Program for Women strives to empower young women in reaching their academic, personal, and professional goals through a series of educational events and programs. With a mission to promote philanthropy, diversity and community engagement, participants will have the option to represent Seafair while visiting a variety of community events and parades.
Our goals is that all participants will leave the program as community advocates with leadership skills, professional contacts, and a lifetime of memories!
The Seafair Scholarship Program for Women is one of Seattle’s time-honored traditions. Dating back to 1950, it was originally designed as a pageant to select articulate young women as Seafair representatives to greet visiting dignitaries and share the Seafair message.
Sixty-five years later, the program has evolved into a scholarship program which rewards academic achievements, celebrates diversity, and prepares future leaders.
