The 2012 Benaroya Research Institute Seafair Triathlon will splash into Seward Park on Sun., July 22 at 6:30 a.m. With nearly 2,000 participants expected, the event is one of the largest co-ed triathlons in the Northwest. The race will include an Olympic Challenge and sprint distance course, relay team option and a custom-designed course just for kids.

Online registration is open through tonight, Fri., July 20 at 8 p.m. Registration prices are as follows: Olympic Challenge Distance - $115, Sprint Distance - $80, Two-Person Relay - $90, Three-Person Relay - $115, Kids - $25.

Registration prices are as follows: Olympic Challenge Distance - $125, Sprint Distance - $90, Two-Person Relay - $95, Three-Person Relay - $120, Kids - $30.

The expo is the last chance to sign up to compete! Athletes must pick up their race day packets at this event. Sponsors will also be on-site showcasing their products and services with prizes and give-a-ways. Meet the Sea Gals and Seattle Sounders players Marc Burch and Roger Levesque! Attendees will also have the unique chance to support cutting-edge research in autoimmune diseases by participating in a cheek swab test to help them better understand the human immune system.

Adult Triathlon
Olympic Challenge Distance: 1-mile swim, 20-mile bike, 10K run.
Sprint Distance: .5-mile swim, 12-mile bike, 5K run.
Relay Teams: two-person and three-person.
Minimum age for participation in the kids triathlon is 13.
Kids Triathlon
Kids can “tri”, too, on a fun, custom-designed course just for them!
Kids Beginner Course: 50 yard swim, 1-mile bike, .2 mile run.
Kids Intermediate Course: 100 yard swim, 2-mile bike, .5 mile run.
Minimum age for participation in the kids triathlon is 6.
