TRAINING PROGRAMS

Raise the Bar Training Plan Presented by Group Health

Raise the Bar’s 8-week training plan for the Seafair Triathlon is designed for the beginner or intermediate triathlete with limited time to train.  Each Monday is a rest day and there’s also an optional rest day on Thursday.  During the week there are typically 2 swims, 3 bikes, and 3 runs.  The training plan incorporates the Tuesday night training program at Seward Park from June 12 – Race week.  If you’d like a more detailed plan that incorporates training zones and specific workout details, you can find those plans here: http://home.trainingpeaks.com/training-and-nutrition-plans/browse-authors.aspx?c=172182. Find out more about the Tuesday night training programs at Seward Park here:  http://www.weraisethebar.com/training/summer-training-programs/

Location: A small portion of the grassy field near the parking lot will be used for registration/check-in and to secure athlete’s belongings in a roped area.  Extra RTB staff will provide security. The swim area will be the east side of Andrew’s bay – marked with buoys.

What to Bring: Please bring your wetsuit, goggles, swim cap, running shoes and if it is a bike night or transition night- all of your bike equipment including bike, shoes and helmet. It is suggested that you swim in tri shorts and a tri top so it is a quick transition to the bike or run.
