Ride the wave with other athletes from around the Pacific Northwest who are charting their winning course by swimming, cycling and running their way to fitness and athletic excellence in preparation for this year’s Seafair Triathlon. Grab your first mates and come out to Seward Park on Lake Washington. This beautiful and scenic course offers an incredible experience for athletes of all ability levels.

Adult Triathlon

Voted the Pacific Northwest's best triathlon and Seattle's only Olympic distance course! 

Olympic Challenge Course: 1-mile swim, 20-mile bike, 10K run. 

Olympic Duathlon Course: 20-mile bike, 10K run. 

Sprint Course: .5-mile swim, 12-mile bike, 5K run. 
Relay Teams: 2-person and 3-person. 

Minimum age for participation in the adult triathlon is 13. 

Kids Triathlon 

Kids can “tri”, too, on a fun, custom-designed course just for them! 

Kids Beginner Course: 50 yard swim, 1-mile bike, .2 mile run. 

Kids Intermediate Course: 100 yard swim, 2-mile bike, .5 mile run. 

Minimum age for participation in the kid's triathlon is 6. 

The swim course is knee to waist deep so kids can stand up if necessary, however, intermediate course participants may need to swim.

No training offered at this time. Clinics will be set up for the month before the race- details to come in May.

The Collegiate Challenge is back for it’s second year! Join the Collegiate Challenge to start in your very own Collegiate Wave and compete against other collegiate athletes. Times from each school will be accumulated to determine an average time per school. Awards for the top schools will be given on top of age group awards. Make sure to select your collegiate team during online registration!

**All participants interested in the Collegiate Challenge must register before Friday, July 3rd, 2015. (Participants can still register for the race after this date but will not be included in the challenge.)


Expo & Packet Pick Up
Date: Saturday, July 18th
Time: 12 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Location: Seward Park

Participants will pick up all necessary equipment for race day including chip, bib and have the opportunity to be body marked. Don't forget to bring your bike if it needs a quick look over while visiting the Triathlon sponsors and exhibitors. Participants can rack their bike a day early at the Expo for $10. You can purchase a pass online during registration or onsite the day of the expo.

Finish Chute

The finish chute at the event will be lined with food and drinks for your recovery after the race! Enjoy product from TalkingRain Beverage Company, bagels from Fran's Bakery, nuun sports drink tabs and product from Charlie's Produce. 

Post Race Festivities and Awards Ceremony

Get in the Seafair summer spirit! Join us after the race at our celebration in the park featuring music, vendor booths, the Washington Athletic Club's relaxation lounge and a visit from some of your favorite Seafair personalities! Awards will be given to the top three men and women from each race course.  

Age Divisions

The following are the age groups will be listed Juniors  - 13-15 &16-19.  Adults- 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69,70-74, 75-79, 80+.

Swim Course Notice
It is very important that all athletes who choose to compete in an Olympic or sprint distance triathlon are capable of swimming at least half a mile in open water.  If you do not have experience swimming in open water, it is highly recommended that you do so prior to the race.   


Due to environmental concerns, the milfoil in Andrews Bay may not be cut prior to the race.  Although the milfoil will be pushed back as athletes enter the water, please expect to possibly encounter some milfoil throughout your swim.


Race Transfer Policy

For insurance purposes the Seafair Triathlon has a NO RACE TRANSFER policy in place.  If you choose not to race this year, you may not give your race number to another athlete, however you may defer your registration to the following year.

Transition Area 

The transition area will be open and supervised starting at 5:15 a.m. on Sunday, July 19th.  For the safety of all participants, only registered participants will be allowed in the transition area. Participants may leave their personal belongings in this secure area. Please rack your bike on your designated bike rack, which is determined by your race number.  Athletes can only rack their bikes the morning of the race, no day before bike racking will be allowed. 

Event Parking 

Parking is not permitted at Seward Park, however participants may park in the surrounding neighborhood.  Please be respectful of the residents who share their neighborhood with us and abide by all parking restrictions, keeping noise to a minimum. 

Race Timing
Rogue Sports is the official timing company of the Seafair Triathlon. 

Prize Money

Prize money will be awards to the top three individuals (male & female) competing in the elite wave of the Olympic Challenge Race. Only individuals competing in the elite wave will be eligible to win prize money. Elite athletes are not eligible to win age group awards. There will be no elite category or prize money for individuals competing in the sprint triathlon.

2nd Place - $250

3rd Place - $100

Elite Wave Information

To participate in the elite wave, first register, then send an email to requesting to be placed into the elite wave along with comparable times/placing from your previous three (3) triathlons.

*All requests to be included in the Elite Wave must be made before Friday, July 4, 2014.

Finish Line Participant Zone

All race participants will complete the race and end in the finish line zone. Water and refreshments will be provided. Additionally, please place your timing chip in the bins before exiting the zone. The finish line zone is for participants only.


Results will be posted here 24 hours after the race.
