The 65th Seafair Weekend Festival was full of sights, sounds, and celebration! Over 174,000 people entered the gates at Genesee Park on Lake Washington to experience one of the most anticipated and iconic weekends in Seattle. Interactive booths, food vendors and military displays filled the park and live music on the Oberto Main Stage kept attendees entertained all weekend long. Toward the Start/Finish tower, the LivingSocial North Beach Food & Wine Festival boasted cooking demonstrations and a special Navy Chef Challenge on the Albert Lee Appliance Cooking Stage. The Jail Sucks Bail Bonds South Beach Party featured the world's best wakeboarders in the Hyperlite Seafair Wakeboard Experience, a bustling beer garden and music from MOVIN 92.5FM. Hydroplane enthusiasts flocked to the Stan Sayres Pits for an up-close look at H1 Unlimited Hydroplanes and USF1 Powerboats.

The weekend kicked off bright and early on Friday morning with the sounds of thunderboats in the water at 8:30 a.m. when the H1 Unlimited hydroplanes started their testing. The USF1 Powerboat Tour boats followed, getting familiar with Lake Washington once again before the Boeing Seafair Air Show started.

Lucas Oil Airshows, Flying Heritage Collection, the Jack Links Screamin' Sasquatch Jet Waco and the Air National Guard Aerobatic Team took to the skies at the beginning of the Boeing Seafair Air Show on Friday and wowed the crowds with daring maneuvers and high-flying tricks. Following these acts was the Patriots Jet Team, back for their second year in a row with their black and red L-39 jets followed by the Marine Air Ground Task Force Demonstration (MAGTF). The U.S. Marine Corps brought seven helicopters to Seafair Weekend Festival this year to showcase the strength of our military forces in the air, on land and in the water. The U.S. Navy Blue Angels followed the MAGTF and the crowd lit up with the sound of summer in the skies!

The Hyperlite Seafair Wakeboard Experience kept the Jail Sucks Bail Bonds South Beach Party buzzing with action all day, with the world's top wakeboarders performing flips and tricks in the water. Pulled by an Endless Cable System, the wakeboarders provided a non-stop show for the crowds that gathered at the South Turn on Lake Washington.

On Saturday evening, Genesee Park hosted a very special celebration: the Alaska Airlines Seafair 65th Anniversary Concert & Fireworks Show. The Young Evils and Nolan Garrett lit up the Oberto Stage with incredible performances in honor of this iconic year for Seafair Festival. Following the concert, a spectacular fireworks display took place over Lake Washington and stunned onlookers with crowd favorites like Waterfall and Willow shells.

Seafair Weekend Festival will take place in 2015 Friday, July 31 - Sunday, August 3.

SUNDAY CHAMPIONSHIP DAY OPENING CEREMONIES
9:55 a.m. – Stan Sayres Pits Stage: National Anthem Performed by Hollis Wong-Wear

About Hollis Wong-Wear
Hollis Wong-Wear broke into the mainstream as the vocalist on Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ hit “White Walls,” which hit the Top 20 on Billboard’s Hot 100 in January. But beyond her catchy vocals lies a multi-disciplinary artist and small business owner driven by collaboration, social justice, and inspired dialogue. Wong-Wear is a spoken word poet, rapper, vocalist and songwriter. She was the lead producer of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ wildly successful music video for their breakout single “Thrift Shop” and is a teaching artist with Youth Speaks Seattle. Wong-Wear's biracial, Asian-American background greatly informs her artistic content and entrepreneurial spirit.
